TUBE.PHOTO.DASH
Curated by Théophile Calot
As part of the 10th edition of the European Month of Photography (EMOP) under the title Rethinking Photography, Casino Luxembourg – Forum d'art contemporain is presenting TUBE.PHOTO.DASH, an exhibition conceived by Théophile Calot, director of delpire & co, a space dedicated to photography in Paris. In it, he proposes an original back-and-forth between two production formats that are elementary to photographic work and essential to its dissemination: the book and the exhibition space. While the former takes us into a more intimate, horizontal reading of photography, the latter takes us into a broader, vertical reading.
Each of the guest artists is proposing works related to ‘book’ in the broadest sense. The books in question are in turn presented in the exhibition space. Placed on an individual reading device, they question the verticality and horizontality of the image and the point of view from which it is read, all in an attempt to grasp the links between the space of the book and the exhibition space.
Participating artists: Christian Aschman, Julien Carreyn, Bertrand Cavalier, Wade Guyton, Pierre Hourquet, Aurélien Mole, Katja Stuke & Oliver Sieber, Batia Suter, Rebecca Topakian, Wolfgang Tillmans and Ruth van Beek.
