Biography
Anuschka Blommers (b.1969, the Netherlands) and Niels Schumm (b.1969, the Netherlands), better known as Blommers & Schumm, are amongst the most established photographers in the international fashion world.

With an early grounding as still life photographers, a distinct sensibility to form has carried through into their contemporary work, creating photographs that focus as much on the subject as they do on the object. By doing this they playfully question the ideas of traditional fashion photography and create a space for themselves in between fashion and art that is uniquely their own. Perspective and proportions are constantly played with and in each photograph, the viewer can nearly always find a beautiful yet deliberate surprise.

Blommers & Schumm first started making photographs together after graduating from the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in 1997. Since then, the pair have worked for countless editorial publications such as Fantastic Man, NY Times Magazine, The Gentlewoman, Self Service, Dazed & Confused, Purple, and AnOther Mag. The pair had their first exhibition at The Ravestijn Gallery in 2013 with the solo show Delusions. They have also exhibited in numerous national and international museums including Museum Winterthur (Zurich), Schim Kunsthalle (Frankfurt), Maison Europeane (Paris), Institut Néerlandais (Paris), Stedelijk Museum (Amsterdam), Groninger Museum (Groningen), FOAM (Amsterdam), ICA (Boston) and Deichtorhallen (Hamburg).
