With ‘Millennials’, Museum Arnhem showed work by ten artists, most of them belong to the generation that is referred to in the media as Millennials: born after 1980. Millennials are characterized as young people who are said to be superficial and self-centered, fused with mobile phones and social media.
Is "the" MiIlennial real or is it just a marketing issue? How relevant are demarcated age limits? The current media attention for Millennials inspired the title and the starting point for this exhibition: how do artists relate to the world around them?
