TEREZA ZELENKOVA - SCOTIABANK CONTACT PHOTOGRAPHY FESTIVAL (CA)

Postponed indefinitely

Toronto (CA)
Photo Festival: May, 2020

Normally spanning the month of May, the CONTACT Festival’s exhibitions are currently postponed and will open on a case-by-case basis, in accordance with public health and safety guidelines.

Our website includes profiles for more than 150 exhibitions originally planned for sites across the city in May 2020. When information is confirmed, details will be updated.

CONTACT is excited to present new Online Programs — many in collaboration with our partners — including profiles on artists and artworks, conversations, video screenings, photobooks and readings that activate our exhibitions.

Drawing on mythologies and historical events associated with actual locations, Prague-based artist Tereza Zelenkova creates photographs that are often informed by her interest in literature and local histories, and convey a mysterious, timeless quality.

Zelenkova was invited to create a site-specific installation of her work at Campbell House Museum—an inimitable landmark in Toronto’s urban centre, built in 1822.

And for an in-depth conversation about Zelenkova's practice and recent work, you can listen to a new episode of the Near Truth podcast here, created by Brad Feuerhelm.
